There are several versions of the magic jack unit, they all must have a slightly different problem with the caller id.

I wasn't able to get caller ID to work with a 100Kohm resistor, but it did work with a 220Kohm resistor [yes, they were 1/4 watt].

Other people posted to use a 100K ohm resistor in parallel to the phone by connecting it to the red and green wire.
This did not work for me as when I did this or any lower resistance the phone would no longer ring and the caller ID still did not show up. I tired a 680K ohm resistor and the caller ID now works perfectly and the phone operates correctly.

So if anyone has a phone where the caller ID is not showing up while using magic jack just get a 680K ohm resistor. I used a phone jack with screw terminals to connect the resistor in parallel so I did not have to solder anything.
