Is Sage dead?

Where have I been?

Is it true? Both versions of Sage is dead? No more development?

No wonder why I can't get it to work right with Firefox 3.5, even with the Nightly Tester...

What happened? That was MY favorite extension..

I am trying Newsfox, but it ain't no Sage...

Never used Sage, but as to Nightly Tester Tools (and JavaScript Options) did you notice the dev's Throwing in the Towel?

Sage-Too has been my favorite since Sage stopped updating.

Check the add-on reviewer comments. There are work-arounds to get Sage-Too working on FF 3.5. I'll try it later.

Re: Is Sage dead?

Let me add my voice to the chorus that Sage (and as of last year, Sage-Too) is my favorite RSS reader.

No matter what I tried I kept coming back to this reader, for my number one preference of an RSS reader was to have it live inside the sidebar. This excluded many of the very popular readers that are still actively developed.

I forced Sage-Too to be compatible with FF 3.5, and so far I have not had any issues.

Let's hope that the developers of Sage-Too get back to being active, for this extension has quite the following and there is still a lot of good work left to do.

Interesting. Someone in the add-on reviewer comments just posted a link to a "private" version of Sage called Sage+++.

Direct link to Sage+++:

(hit the "Switch to English" button at the top right)

Anyone courageous enough try that version?

(edit: added link)

Yes, and I didn't care for it. The problem is the way it handles new feeds... I pretty much had to "discover" them through Sage ++.. You have to try it to see what I mean..

Re: Is Sage dead?

if you read the reviews here: »https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/77, then you might be able to install it in FF3.5, especially the comment by Henry on June 30th.

Re: Is Sage dead?

There is Sage++ now. Working fine with FF3.5, doesn't require any tweaking.

Here's the link:

Both Sage and Sage-Too have FF 3.5 compatible versions:
Sage 1.4.3
Sage-Too 2.0.0

Also try Brief, which seems to be gaining in popularity.
