I've never had a problem and I download from Usenet often. This is from today using Giganews and Newsbin Pro with Cox's 12/1 Preferred tier.

I was getting up to 2.6MBps when I had the Premier package.

I normally can pull 1700KBps consistently. I originally thought it was due to me replacing my router, but I just tried my old one and got the same thing

My speedtest was showing 14mbps up / 3mbps down. Hrm... I changed up some ports with my usenet provider and it's not port specific. Definitely something weird.

I am getting 250KBps on Giganews. Speedtest to LA, CA is showing full bandwidth. Anything east coast is about the same speed as usenet. Somethings going on

I can only manage to pull ~1.5-1.7megabits/s on my usenet subscription (paid service) from my home PC with Cox HSI, however from another location/provider, using my usenet login, I can download at well over 2megabytes/s from from my usenet provider indicating its not a problem on their end. I normally can pull ~1megabyte/s on my Cox HSI and I recently have. And from that other location, I was able to send files back to my home PC at ~1megabyte/s.

Anyone know if Cox selectively throttling bandwidth on usenet on port 119?
