Re: [BC] Usenet down on Shaw again? I've tried 'shawnews' and 'news.shawcable.net' and they don't work. The weird thing is it stopped working when there was a network outage, but after I got back online with no help from customer support, I could no longer access Usenet. I can ping the news server address that resolve to the newsfarm at: 69.16.185.250 and 69.26.185.147
Here are the nslookups:
C:\Documents and Settings\MYKEY>nslookup shawnews Server: pd2nsc3.st.vc.shawcable.net Address: 64.59.144.92
Non-authoritative answer: Name: newsfarm.iad.highwinds-media.com Addresses: 69.16.185.247, 69.16.185.250 Aliases: shawnews.vc.shawcable.net, news.shawcable.net
C:\Documents and Settings\MYKEY>nslookup news.shawcable.net Server: pd2nsc3.st.vc.shawcable.net Address: 64.59.144.92

When I telnet to the addresses above, I get no response from the server at all. I even disconnected my router and connected directly through the modem even though I've made no changes to me router and no change in results. Weird. Any suggestions? |
