Re: [DSL] Is this even tweakable?

Post your Tweak Test results (from here): »/tweaks

As for the Download Speed kbit/s box, if you don't know the Hotel's actual Service speed, just enter 1500 (1.5Mb/s... it doesn't need to be all that accurate, as the results page will give an approximation of what you're actually getting)

With that info, we can make a "ballpark" suggestion for possible MTU and RWIN values to try with DrTCP...

I wish I could get the tweak test to run..just keeps saying it can't connect. Don't know if it has anything to do with their filtering because I can't ping or tracert either.

Bummer.

If you're willing to try a "blind" experiment, Download DrTCP from here: »/front/drtcp.html and write down all the current settings (so you can restore them if tweaking doesn't help).

Next, Try changing the settings as shown above (My best Scientific, Wild-@$$ed Guess)...

(Make sure to select your particular Ethernet Adapter in the 'Adapter Settings' dropdown, before entering the MTU.)

Save the settings, Exit DrTCP, and Reboot... See if that makes any noticeable improvement in your speeds... If not, just re-enter/blank the old settings, save, and Reboot.

HTH,

Thanks for the help anyhow. Changed it up and reran my tests. The same as yesterday. Reckon it's just the company not wanting to pay very much for DSL. Figures.

Thanks again for the help though...
