| [Help] Night time pics?
I was out camping over the weekend and there was a huge field of fireflys blinking away. I'm a total newbie and every shot I took came out totally blank or with 1 or two white spots and everything else black. Even with manually adjusting the shutter settings.
What does it take to get a night shot with some color to save on a digital? The only camera I have is a Fuji FinePix s800. |

| At that time of night, to get any kind of detail, you're going to need a tripod.
Slowing down the shutter to the 1s+ range is probably going to need to be done as well. -- Come play Mafia! | My Picture Blog |

| reply to syslock also, use the most open setting of the lens aperture, and the highest iso setting of the camera.
and you might even try experimenting with a little fill-flash, to see it you can combine that with a slow shutter speed to get a fire-trail and a flash-stopped fly.
then play too with post-editing, adjusting brightness and contrast etc. in computer. |
