Re: [Other] Just bitching...

My ongoing issue may have been corrected today. it took over a month. It should not of and it showed me the lack of care that they have for their customers. the indivvidual may try but the coporation is set up in a way that these good workers do not have the tools .. to help

This accurately describes my dealings with them. They make an error with the receiver they send me and then want to charge me for it. I'm close to taking my cable business elsewhere.

Here is my latest post on the Charter direct forums:

As I've told multiple people with support, at this point I don't care if it has an HDMI port or not.

At this point it may be more prudent for me to switch to Dish Network's DishHD pack with only HD channels, and just keep Charter for my Internet connection.

U-verse is also scheduled to be in my area very soon, and they can handle my Internet connection as well.

I feel like I have gotten poor service on the TV side of things from nearly the start, with defective equipment, a rude technician that made a mess of my wires and setup (and then set it up wrong so that my wife did not have sound on the TV the rest of the day), replacement of the equipment with the wrong equipment, and extreme reluctance to correct the error without charging me $30.

quote:
The St. Louis-based MSO lost 73,300 basic video customers in the period. Digital subscribers also declined by 5,700 customers in the quarter. High-speed internet and telephony customers rose by 10,600 and 56,900, respectively.
This seems to describe my experience very well. Good Internet connection, dissatisfaction with the TV.

Well they're going to send a tech out and credit me the cost of what the service call would cost. Good stuff.
