Re: USA HD -- Burn Notice and Royal Pains Ever since I got a DMCA from disney for downloading lost, usenet is all I use. I dont consider myself a pirate, but to wait until a DVD comes out just because I missed one episode of a show seems unfair to me (especially when my damn DVR shouldn't have missed it in the first place!)
edit: looks like if I wait till tomorrow I can watch it on the USA website it all it's blurry goodness.  |

2 edits | Hulu looks like garbage on my 60" TV. It looks fine on my 22" LCD, but that's not how I watch TV.
The day that Hulu adds HD that can be streamed to a set-top box...will be the same day that many more folks cancel cable / FiOS TV. |

I don't need it streamed to a set-top box, that's what the HTPC is for. ABC's HD online streaming was acceptable but like Cogdis  , I prefer to download the HD equivalents (and then use Boxee to manage it all |

To get the masses to cancel cable, dedicated HD streaming would have to be available thorugh an inexpensive STB or a gaming console like the Xbox360, PS3, etc.
Realistically, this is not likely to ever happen, at least not for free. The latest talk is that Hulu will limit much of its content to pay subscribers at some point. I would personally have no problem paying a modest fee for Hulu if everything were in 1080p and available to a new or existing box like the Xbox360, PS3, Roku, or TiVo. |

Newscorp, Fox parent company does have 34% interest in DirecTV if that's what you are thinking of. Correct me if I am wrong. |

1 edit | I'm really sick of this verizon guide data. What is going on at this company? Why don't they realize that a DVR is useless if it doesnt actually record!?
So once again I'm downloading Burn Notice and Royal Pains. At least Vz gives me internet fast enough to do that.
I feel terrible for people who have no idea that they've missed two episodes and are confused by references to the episodes they didn't see. |
