HD over Component cables on the Cisco DVR/STB give the bright screen artifacts. Apparently, it's a known problem -- I know, little consolation if it affects your viewing -- that keeps me from getting true HD. I have to watch HD channels in SD wide screen. A nice picture, to be sure, but not the HD I'm paying $10 a month for.
