The poster in the Comcast forum submitted a trace route which shows no issues in the Comcast transit network, and definite issues in the AT&T Worldnet Services transit network. Blizzard hosts WoW on the AT&T network.

Based on those threads, it is my speculation that Blizzard has a habit of pointing the finger away from themselves, and to their subscribers ISPs, despite that multiple users on multiple ISPs show trouble in the AT&T transit network.
CoxTOC1 : Well...

First off it's been my experience that Blizzard tech support does not understand the difference between packet loss and packet prioritization. You may want to educate yourself a little bit by reading this article »Cox HSI Forum FAQ »How is prioritizing any different from loss?. Also they seem to be quick to blame your ISP.

Secondly I would be interested in seeing what proof or evidence they have that we are throttling gaming packets.

Now if you want to send me or CoxTech1 a pm with your modems MAC address we'll happily look into things from our side. But it sounds like you are on a good first step by getting a tech out to check your side of things.

Beats : I have played World of Warcraft for the last 2-3 years with Cox HSI. I have the ~$40 tier and have had it for the duration of my time playing WoW.

Approximately 1 month ago, I began having lag issues when playing. I have played on the same server for my duration of playing the game and have typically seen latency ranging from 60-110ms, which has been acceptable. In the last month I have seen my latency range from 260-350ms and this is reaching borderline unplayable. (Especially considering what I am used to playing with)

I have had no hardware or software changes since November '08, when I got a new computer and saw no changes from November until the last month.

I called Cox support yesterday to see if there were any known issues and they said there were not. They checked the signals on my modem and everything checked out ok with no problems found.

I have run speed tests and traceroutes:

It is the speculation of Blizzard tech support that my ISP could be throttling game packets.

I do not run P2P software or download anything from torrents. I get my patches from direct download sites.

I'm sort of at a loss for what the issue is and I am considering changing ISPs if these issues continue. I have a tech coming to my house tomorrow to check the lines/signal since that is what Cox insisted as the next step to escalate this issue.

I'm just looking for any insight or information anyone might have to help me.
