Re: [info] AT&T 3g Bob you can't block the data? As long as you own the iPhone on the ATT network they will charge you $30 a month for data. Doesn't matter if it's 3g or 2g you will get charged.
If your out of contract I would look at getting a cheap cellphone from ebay and sticking your SIM in that. Again that's only if your not in your 2 year contract with the iPhone. |

or
Enterprise Data Plan for iPhone
$45.00 Text--N/A Data--Unlimited Select
So, this is no-option!
The only possible way to get around this seems to be to get another provider, one which can be accessed by a jailbroken iPhone, get a free/cheap phone from them, transfer my number to the new provider, and then jailbreak the iPhone and put it on the new service.

You can do that, but you will incur the Early Termination Fee from AT&T.
Can you afford that, in this economic climate?
