<description><![CDATA[ChargerMike posted : On the old mechanical injection pumps diesel was both a coolant and a lubricant. So gas usually cause them to fail quickly. Common rail systems not so much so but modern ECMs will see the problem and first set the CEL and de-rate the engine, or shut it down depending on the programing.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[ChargerMike posted : In 2008 a local fuel supplier put unleaded in to 3 of my customers trucks. (Due to someone putting the wrong fuel in a delivery truck) One was a brand new Cummins ISB with after treatment. <br>(DPF).....Per Cummins the engine and DPF had to be torn down and all fuel system components replaced. <br><br>It made my boat payments for the next few months.   ;)]]></description>

They have the lids color/shape coded so this kind of crap is not suppose to happen, even if you don't read/speak English.<br><br>Several years ago a truck driver put gasoline into the Kerosene tank at a nearby station.  At least one kerosene heater blew up when the person put gasoline into it (rightfully thinking they filled the unit with kerosene).]]></description>
