Re: [XPPro] Display setting error

ez2cy,

To what resolution are you trying to set? Could it be that your monitor doesn't support that resolution?

Can you set the resolution to some other one, like what it was originally? What resolutions does your monitor support?

Just wondering.

Also, that you can change the settings in Safe Mode indicates that it is unlikely the problem is with a system file.

It may be a program or service that loads at startup.

Can you perform a "clean boot" of XP and see if the same error occurs:

I have not tried the "clean boot" yet auggy.

I may have not made it clear about Safe Mode. Although I was able to get into "Display" without an error message and it let me go thru the motions it did not change anything. Only changed when I rebooted normally that I could change it, and then I got the error again.

What resolution? I'm not sure. What I'm doing is, certain poker rooms, you have to have a setting of ???? so you can fit tables on your screen without overlap. Only way to find out is open 4 tables and keep changing the resolution until you get what you want.

I'll try the "clean boot" now.

Thanks
