[AZ] I can't get no...

Well, I keep getting closer but then something comes up and off we go again. I had Preferred--12/1--and was nearly always better than, sometimes even in lo to mod 20's down but all this DOCSIS 3 talk made me flip for an SB6120 after my trusty old SB5120 flushed itself. I even let the nice lady get in my boxers for Premier--20/2. Surprise, surprise, not quite as much performance. Not bad but still a definite degradation. A brief period later my new trusty old SurfBoard starts bonding on the down side--and guess what? Performance off a bit more. So now I'm still exceeding spec for Preferred, below spec for Premier and out the price of a damn fine lunch at the House of Tricks--and out $13 every month just to keep me bitchy.

So what do you think, should I say I would prefer Preferred and refuse to pay more until I get more--or just leave well enough alone? Since you can't see the blue light 1 down from the top, the attached Signal page should prove the bonding.

Well did you just start getting bonded channels? because maybe its still a work in progress, and your seein the effects of slower speeds. But if i was you personally.. I would contact one of the AZ Techs on here via PM, and see what they can do about your issue.

I don't believe the non premier plus tiers are bonded.

Good advice; glad I took it. Found out SB6120 exhibits a weird pseudo-bonding sometimes that just lights up the blue light--no performance enhancement. Also, even tho the phone jockey that gave me all kinds of bogus G2 back in June tried his best to sell me Premier Plus then, I'd probably have tripped a breaker or 2 by now because my node wouldn't then, now, and for the scheduled future support DOCSIS 3.

You are correct, sir, but you could not have determined that from my modem, which exhibited all the DOCSIS 3 indicators except enhanced performance.

if channel bonding can occur on other tiers if bonding is available in that area and have a docsis 3.0 modem

Something I should probably point out is that channel bonding doesn't provide enhanced performance, it's simply a different method of service delivery. If you have Premier service (20/2) you'll get 1 20Mbit channel on a DOCSIS 2.0 modem or 2x10Mbit channels on a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. The only situations where a DOCSIS 3.0 modem provide a peformance enhancement is when the quality of service exceeds DOCSIS 2.0 capabilities.

Sounds like it work great in areas with oversold nodes like the Baton Rouge folks have been experiencing for months.

is premier the only other tier that does bonding, or will preffered do it also on a D3 modem?

I suggest you try the steps mentioned here:

I wasn't looking at the modem just saying I hadn't heard of bonding working on any tier except for premier plus. the modem might say it's bonded, but in reality it isn't.
