Tims going to Times Square

Small article, I'll just quote it verbatim

NEW YORK - You’ll soon be able to order a double-double and a doughnut in Times Square. Tim Hortons, in partnership with U.S. ice cream retailer Cold Stone Creamery, is opening three co-branded stores in Manhattan, including the Times Square location.

The two organizations announced a co-branding initiative in March that saw the ice cream retailer open co-branded stores in Canada and the U.S. More than 40 restaurants have been fully converted to the combined Cold Stone Creamery/Tim Hortons concept.

Currently, the Canadian fast food giant has outlets in 10 other U.S. states, many in border areas.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.

Cold Stone Creamery In Nova Scotia

I have been at the CSC in NY, but was pleasantly surprized to see our local Timmies have a new sign up front and a beehive of icecream scraping staff working on the inside. It certainly is an obese people magnet.

Re: Cold Stone Creamery In Nova Scotia

I have to admit. I have had CSC at Tims

The Pickering (Kingston Road by the Manderin) has a Tim and CSC outlet. They switched over almost right away.

My sister Hated the concept (the girl wouldn't give her a coffee saying it was the ice cream line (she was a trainee, ah well)).

I personally Missed CSC from my time in the US. They make very good cold drinks.

The icecreams decent as well. Expensive but good.

(The CSC in this location is doing VERY Good business)

Re: Cold Stone Creamery In Nova Scotia

There's one of those dual-purpose Timmies on Lakeshore Road in Mississauga.

I've never tried the ice cream. Is it any good?

Re: Cold Stone Creamery In Nova Scotia

It's cream based ice cream. So more "baskin robins" vs dairy queen.

It reminds me kind of like Cows in PEI... not that that will help many people

Helps me - I love Cows Ice Cream - it's the first place I stop in Borden/Carleton when I get on island, and we buy a ton of it and put it in our 7 day cooler with a block of dry ice. It's by far one of my favourite ice creams. If Cold Stone is as good or better - I'll be trying it soon.

I love Cows. Everytime we go to Banff, it's the first stop we make.

Of course, the awesome t-shirts are popular with the kids too.

How does one go about opening up their own hortons store in the usa if the person is only a CDN citizen? Can you just phone them up get established and work the money off??
