Robbinsville, NC		Switching from Verizon Dial Up to Verizon DSL

A local friend is just about to get Verizon DSL availability in his area and is currently using their Dial-Up as his ISP. Does anyone know what the rules are about such things as Verizon E-mail address retention going forward after the upgrade?
