Unless you can reproduce on multiple other speed test sites (visualware, etc) then I doubt you're really getting 75 down.

You could of course try to download multiple files from dl.tv or similar or try to torrent a VERY popular torrent to see if the aggregate bandwidth peaks at 75 or not.

It appears the fluff is reserved for upgrades after 6/22, and the 20/5 tier is now a legacy tier. May be a reason you want to bump up or over from 20/5.

Took some time to get things stable, though, because of the optimizations I did with my previous RoadRunner connection. The short of what I had to do was to change all TCP settings to their defaults, and set the MTU and RWIN values to blank. Restarted the PC and everything has been stable and super fast.

I'm also NOT using the Actiontec router they provided. My Cisco PIX handles this speed beautifully... so far :D. CPU on the PIX does go up to 50 when I push 20 Meg. 52-54% at 25 Meg.

No, we can't. We've seen no one, till you, claim that they were seeing any "fluff" on an old speed. Other than a few misprovisions in the past, the only people seeing "fluff" on their connection were those who ordered the new tiers (15/5, 25/15, and 35/20 in NY).

If you sign up for the 25/15 tier you most likely will see 25/25 on the speedtests. The only reason I downgraded from 50/20 to 35/20 is because Verizon offered a double play package with Unlimited Local and Long Distance calling + Caller ID and Voicemail for $30 cheaper than what I was paying for 50/20 + Basic local service.

Considering I can barely saturate my 50mb download, it makes financial sense.

That said, I'd love them to upgrade the 35/20 tier officially to 50/35 or maybe even 50/50 with the new highest tier being something like 75/35.

That'd be nice. :)

While I'm happy for you (and others getting this "bonus"), I'm pissed that those of us on 50/20 are currently being "forgotten"/treated basically like shit.

We pay more than double you guys, get less on the downstream, and get far less on the upload.. typically 49-50/20-21.
