iansltx : Those results are exactly where they should be; Comcast tiers are actually overprovisioned by 10% on download and upload speeds to make sure people test at the speed tier they're buying. So theoretically you can do 17600 kbps all day long on your connection (after PowerBoost wears off).

Modem levels look to be right where you want them to be, and channel bonding appears to be working despite not having a DOCSIS 3.0 tier (yay for DOCSIS 3 modems). That said, doesn't look like you're getting any speed boost from dual channels, though having two means you'll be more likely to get 100% of your rated speed 100% of the time.

What's interesting is that your upstream modulation is DOCSIS 1.1 rather than DOCSIS 2.0. Common activities that may cause excessive data consumption in violation of this Policy include, but are not limited to, numerous or continuous bulk transfers of files and other high capacity traffic using (i) file transfer protocol (“FTP”), (ii) peer-to-peer applications, and (iii) newsgroups. He called 15 minutes, 5 minutes, and when he arrived. Very courteous—entirely not what I expected. He was quick and the set up was 5 minutes. Apparently for commercial class service they don't do any configuration; it's just plug and play.

After he left I realized the internet didn't connect. My fault for not testing it. I called CS and they sent another tech after about 30 minutes who swapped out the modem they gave me and everything worked. I will replaced the modem they gave me later.
S60 : Thank you guys for all the help and answers.

Anyways I called Comcast business services; a very nice and courteous agent helped me. I found out that the company I work for offers me the option to choose Comcast Business Class Teleworker.

I asked the agent what this was and how it was different from residential:
1) 16D/2U speed; however speeds are not actually capped. That's the speed I'm guaranteed, not capped to; in times of low use I can get as high a speed as they can offer. I guess I should get a DOCSIS 3.0 modem then.
2) I'm not limited to 250GB/month; the guy actually said quote, "You're not limited to 250GB a month which means you can download as much as you want." That's pretty nice.
3) 24 hour support technician turnaround—I should get my service restored within a few hours of calling.

So yeah I decided that the better support and more lenient service was worth the price; it costs $60 a month. I signed up already—I'm moving in 3 weeks and have already set an appointment up. The only thing I don't get is a static IP, but I guess I'm okay with not having that.

I hope I don't have to experience the horror stories I've heard about over the years.

iansltx : A few points:

1. If you have FIOS, keep it. It's that simple. Unless you can't get FiOS at the new location it'll be better than Comcast.
2. No matter what modem you get/buy/rent, Comcast sends their own firmware down, locking out features at will. Buying your own modem won't stop this.
3. If you do want a modem bought of your own accord, the SB6120 is a good, albeit expensive, one.
4. Speeds are 12/2, 16/2, 22/5 and 50/10 in DOCSIS 3 areas. The numbers Comcast likes to quote about PowerBoost mean nothing most of the time; PowerBoost (not available on the 50/10 tier) will pretty much max out your pipe for the first few seconds of a download; I get 30/10 now on PowerBoost and I'm on the 8/2 plan.
5. Residential accounts are soft-capped at 250GB per month. Business accounts have no such cap, though you don't want to do more than a TB or two because they'll want you to upgrade to fiber at that point. There's also congestion managment if you're on a more crowded node.
6. If you don't have TV you have to do the professional install. No way around it. Period. Trust me; if I could've done a self-install I would've saved the $100.

If you've got any other questions, reply to my post so the system IMs me and I'll see if I can answer them.

There is no such restriction on the business plan, so they could call you an excessive user at 100 GBytes, but they probably won't.

Having said that, there isn't a lot of detail about when they take action.
