Belkin N Wireless router

Hello
I bought a "Belkin N Wireless Modem Router & USB Adapter" today and after having tried to connect to the internet, failed.
After it asked me to enter my ISP username and password, it complained that the information was incorrect, so after checking the connection details and confirming that it was all correct (including encapsulation, VPI/VCI etc.) I tried again and was given the same error message. I know that these settings are correct as my previous router managed connecting to the internet just fine!
If this problem has been encountered before, has anyone got a fix? I thought i'd try here before contacting customer support for Belkin & my ISP, and going through that horrible process.
I will be glad to supply any extra information
