Is their VoIP application available only in German? I installed it from the US, but the app is in Gernam and login in also fails. |

As you may know, SipGate is a long established voip company in the U.K. and Germany. They have just recently decided to make an investment in the U.S. and make an effort to obtain U.S. customers.. Their web site says they are currently offering (free) incoming phone numbers in AZ, CA, CO, IN, NV, OR, WA, and UT with "more locations to come".
I would contact their customer support for an explanation about the German softphone. I would think it was some mistake on their part setting up their website. Perhaps you are one of the first to opt for their U.S. softphone.
Looking at their web site, the implication is you can "bring your own adapter" in that they mention buying a (possibly counterfit) PAP2 on EBay. |

I contacted support and they sent me the same link I used from their US web site to get the software. The downloaded exe runs in English, but it is not the softphone app. It is just an app that checks for prereqs and it then downloads the real softphone app. The one that is downloading is in German. I used a Linksys ATA and it worked, it also worked with Sipsorcery. I did find a bug when dialing are code 787, their system is prepending 011 to the call. I know they are just in Beta in the US, but I am not impressed with their support or service. |

I have to revise my earlier statement (aszabados), the client now does download as the German version for me. |

Isn't it just a preconfigured version of x-lite?
(At least the UK one is: »www.sipgate.co.uk/user/downloads.php )
You could just download X-Lite directly (free) and set it up yourself (or use the softphone of your choice). |
