Does the install contractor get money from the ac manufacturer when a warranty job is done.

none

the authorized warranty repair folks get reimbursed for whatever the warranty covers. most folks do not catch the fact that the default 5 year warranty is 1 year Parts AND LABOR, the remaining 4 years PARTS ONLY.

so, if you are asking why your contractor is charging you labor for warranty work, that is probably it.

Thanks for the response. My contractor did oodles of work replacing 5 defective compressors and 2 defective outside units with no charge to me thats why I figure that he was getting paid by the manufacturer.

The contractor gets paid for his labor for faulty product repair/replacement but has to prove it was installed per manufacturers spec. and not an installation issue.

What manufacturer are you referring to, I'd like to know so as not to buy their stuff in the first place!
