Fuel, spark and air (aka compression). Without all 3, it will not start. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

| reply to St0ney The 2 most common causes in no particular order: a) lack of ignition (spark) b) lack of fuel in the cylinder
Ignition is the easiest to check for -- use a timing light, or just remove one spark plug boot, place it close to a ground, crank, and look for sparks in the dark. -- And the winner is: |

 | reply to St0ney Had a valve cover gasket leak oil and muck up the sparks on my 94' BMW. I initially thought it wasn't getting fuel but my mechanic was able to diagnose and take care of me. -- I am the Flying Photog, see my website accordingly named Flyingphotog.com. | reply to St0ney well now it seems like batteries dead. because the remote car door opener doesnt open the car door.. power locks dont work either. |
|
 | could this now be a starter problem? |
|
 | reply to St0ney Tip #1
If a vehicle does not start within a reasonable amount of cranking..... DO NOT keep cranking on it thinking that something will change...... THE ONLY thing that will change is the fact that you now have 2 problems, the original one, and a dead battery. |

Charge the battery. If you don't have a battery charger, then time to call your favorite shop so they can tow the car to their shop. You won't diagnose the problem by running the battery down hoping it will start -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

You have 2 choices now: a) buy or borrow a battery charger b) call a shop and let them do the work -- And the winner is: |

My car has a failing fuel pump and sometimes it takes a while to turn over when cranking. This makes no sense. How does it make no sense? Failed Fuel Pump = No Fuel = No Start. I only stated that I have a FAILING fuel pump which is causing a lack of fuel which causes my car to have a hard time starting. |
