Re: VPN to multiuser Quickbooks unacceptably slow

You can't practically run Quickbooks or Simply through WAN. Way too slow. No way around that. It's not designed for it.

The only practical way to do it is running it on Terminal Server and accessing by Remote desktop. I have it set up this way and it works very well.

If you don't want to spend big bucks on Terminal server you can access via an XP Pro remote desktop session. It only allows 1 connection though so you need one XP Pro computer for each simultaneous connection.

i got a simular issue i need to solve soon. My solution is to change providers to just avoid this bs situation all together and not charge the customer more then needed.

Rogers is hurting their clientbase as bell is also with this whole packet inspection bs...

Exactly, they just can't operate with such limited bandwidth. The only product that is USABLE over wan is simply accounting MYSQL version (Enterprise). This works flawlessly over dsl wan connections.
