Any way to transfer call on ViaTalk??

I need to be able to direct transfer a call from viatalk to another number during the call. You used to be able to do this just like three way calling, but now it will disconnect you. I have submitted a ticket, and have been informed that there is not a way to do this, and it will not be added due to technical constraints.

Does anyone know of a way to do this? I am open to using another adapter or voip phone if need be. It appears after extensive searching, that this feature is available on most other providers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Any way to transfer call on ViaTalk??

Funny I was wondering the same thing last week. Seems as it is gone.. It used to work. My verizon pots line is getting better than voip service. I can xfer calls, pick up calls from another ringing line, by dialing a * code. Wish ViaTalk would add those in, even music on hold.

What kind of adapter do you have?

It is the linksys pap2t. Got the password from VT, and looked at configuration. *98 should be blind transfer, but when you try it, it just disconnects the call. VT support said it was not supported.

you can switch to legacy server, hightower. I was on that and could transfer calls from line 1 to line 2 by dialing my own phone number. But, then you bring back the old annoyances of legacy. I got tired of dead air when dialing and losing connections so I went back.
