Comments: CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of a wildland fire west of Temecula in the De Luz area. First arriving Officer reported a large spot burning upslope in steep, dense terrain. Updates will be posted as information becomes available. UPDATE 3:25 PM: Fire is approximately 75-100 acres burning in heavy fuels at a moderate rate. The fire has a 10-15 mhp south east wind pushing the fire toward Winchester Road. Rancho California Road has been closed in both directions at Business Center Drive. Several businesses have been evacuated along Business Park Drive between Rancho California Road and Winchester Road. No structures have been damaged.UPDATE 5:25 p.m.: The fire is 100 acres and 10% contained. No injuries. FOR MEDIA INQUIRIES ONLY.....Public Information Officer Captain Fernando Herrera is at the scene and can be reached at 760-250-9881. UPDATE 6:10 p.m.: Fire mapped is 94 acres and 40% contained. For travel to and from Temecula from De Luz...Rancho California Road will remained between Business Park Drive and Sandia Creek Road and may remain closed throughout the night. Commuters and residents may seek alternate routes through Clinton Keith Road to the north or Mission Road in Fallbrook to the south for travel to and from the De Luz Area.
