anon : What Bicephale? No plug for DSL_Statscope? This would seem the ideal case for using that tool.

Hiquin... You should try as Bicephale suggests and enable the experimental area by checking it off in the Misc menu of DMT. Crank the SNRM slider all the way to the top and click on apply/resync. See what speed connection you get and how long it holds before resync. If you want to invest some time, I would suggest that you do use DSL_Statscope to monitor and save your modem stats on a 10 second snapshot interval. You will be able to see if there are periods of electrical interference ( noise ) throughout the day that affect your connection. Once you map out the condition of your line for several days, you can use that as a baseline to measure the effect of anything else that you might do to improve your stats.

If all fails, then it's time to look at Rogers; that was my unfortunate outcome :^(

dslrocker3 : My line used to be in the 62-63dB attenution range and I was struggling to maintain my 1728/384 interleaved profile.
Hiquin : Did some research, looks like the map I had been looking at before showed the CLOSEST CO to me, but thats not the one I'm hooked up to in this area.

I looked up a neighbours phone number, it's 519-936-#### according to that, with Telcodata.us the CO I'm hooked up to is at 286 RECTORY ST, which is 5km away, right next to where I used to live. No wonder my line stats are crap now and were great before.

Am I out of luck here? it's all based on how Bell wired up this area right? even though theres another CO closer? Am I going to have to switch to *gulp* cable?!??? God I hope not!

P.S. I have posted about this in the teksavvy direct forums as well, so maybe they can help me!
