Re: [northeast] OSX Mail set up

I think I may have gotten it all sussed. I had 2 verizon outgoings in the Mail app.
My wifes was fine, as it turned out, there just wasn't any new mail at 6:30AM.
I meant 587.

Don't know what kind of settings you have with OSX, but the outgoing server requires authentication. OE just has a check box on the servers tab to authenticate with same credentials (user/pass) as on the pop server.

Try your wife's on port 587.

webmail works in both directions for the primary acct.

I spent the better part of an hour last night with CS trying to get email set up. It was blocked by Yahoo, go figure.
Eventually, I found one intelligent person in the Syracuse office.
So in theory, my mail acct is provisioned.
Yet in trying to set up in Mail, it has been trying for 10 mins to send a test message. Incoming seems to work.
I followed the set up instructions at Verizon site for Mail.

Related, my soon to be (maybe) former provider, OOL is making it difficult to get mail on my wifes XP. Eventually, I set her OE acct props to port 527 and SSL so she could send mail. All was well.
Today, nothing has changed and she can neither send or receive mail from her current (old) OOL mailbox.

Ideas?
