The email means that XP will no longer be available for download from the eOpen website, nothing more. |

I haven't gotten any letter but I have XP Pro on a disk that Dell sent with the machine and I made a copy of course. Yes it was directed to businesses, however it fair to assume that XP Home is in the same boat as XP Pro is.

| I just recieved this email from my Dell rep.
--- Subject: Windows 7 Release Date has been set at 22nd October 2009
Start preparing yourselves and your customers!
If your business would want to stay on XP, please ensure that you have the media burned to a disk. After October, Windows XP Pro will no longer be available for download! ---
It looks like XP will no longer be available sooner than you think from the system builders like Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.
