They can over heat causing the cards to shut off or burn out. Some dslams also have a temp. monitor on them that will shut the power off to the dslam if it over heats. Never had an issue. I haven't heard of temperature being an issue above ground either. Could I have an issue with some heat affecting the DSL?

I honestly do not recall if I had the trouble during the Winter last year, I suppose it could be affected by either hot or cold weather extremes.
