Is cable a utility?

Comcast is acting as a Franchised utility right now and the government (state/local/federal) needs to treat it as such.

Take a poll on the street: "do you consider cable service a utility?"

I am sure that a significant majority will say yes. And don't anyone tell me that the question isn't fair. Phone and dsl service are both offered by Verizon and the same logic applies. Phone is a utility and so is dsl. Cable is a utility and so is the internet service. Need I mention that comcast provides phone service (cdv)?

Not a utility.... right....
