This is true. I met some painters once, they were touching up a hot am tower (powered off of course). They are insane.

3M makes colored tape. It is used for marking purposes only. It is like 1/2 inch wide. I use it all the time. :)

I did some colored marking back in 2006 and the colors have completely faded.

Again, I can you tell from experience the vapor sealant will start to weather after a few years.
