I split the coaxial running to the modem of the COX router and now it is running to the Cox router and the Verizon router...is that correct¿ |

1 edit | No.
You need the VZ coax to run from the ONT to a splitter and then to the Actiontec router and TVs.
You need the Cox coax to run to their cable modem.
You can not mix the cable signals. The FIOS-TV and Cox HSI frequencies overlap. The Actiontec is not a cable modem and can not connect to the Cox cable. |

No, Cox probably disconnected the cable that went to the router at the main Verizon splitter, and ran it to their cable modem for internet. You need to reconnect the Verizon router to that splitter feeding the TV cables. You could split the cable behind the TV, but there should be an empty connector on the splitter, and the router need not be in the room with the TV. |

| Did that too. No luck. The Verizon people told my parents yesterday on the phone that the data feed comes through the ActionTec box and there is no way to get the data feed for the program guide if you don't have their internet service. I find that very hard to believe however it's not working. I think I may have exhausted all avenues |

That's not true. They do provision a data connection over the coax for Guide, VOD, and widgets, even if all you have is TV. Call tech support 1-888-553-1555. Aim yourself down the phone tree toward tech support 3 or 4 steps, and say Agent. |
