Kerio: you have too many applications registered

Hi all, 3 or 4 days ago I've started getting the above dialogue box. It will randomly come up and takes 5 to 10 or more clicks on the OK or the X to close it out. I've combined or deleted about 10 filter rules and still have 47 yet the dialogue box keeps coming up. Running XP Home w/SP3.
Any suggestions?

forgot to mention - it's Kerio 2.1.5

There was time I was getting that as well w/ 2.15.

Not a supported version any longer..so I tinkered myself

In the end, the only way I got rid of it was a complete uninstall & reinstall - I believe I saved the config file beforehand.

The app is still available in our old Kerio Forum sidelink bar, so you can still download it if you don't have a copy

It has been a long time since I used KPF, but I believe you might be able to resolve this by cleaning up the admin MD5 program list. Go through it and remove duplicates and old programs you are no longer using...

Re: Kerio: you have too many applications registered

Lil and Cold, Thank you both for your suggestions - uninstalled and reinstalled and further tightened up the MD5 filter list by deleting 3 more entries. Unfortunately the dialogue box is still randomly doing it's thing. Oh well, it's not really a biggie, I'll either find another firewall or learn to live with it until it goes away the same way that it suddenly appeared.

This person is one of the oldest proponents of Kerio that I know of, perhaps some of this would help.

I had never seen this error before, but then I don't use MD5 feature.

in kerio, on the "md5 applications" tab, try deleting all of the items that are listed there.. all of the items, there, that are needed, will be restored as the programs are run..

i still use KPF 2.15..

Re: Kerio: you have too many applications registered

thanks redwolfe, Fortunately I lucked into the fix two days ago. Things go much better when you (ME ) actually read things rather than my normal bull in a china shop approach. My mindset was that filter rules and Md5 were the same; when I noticed the Md5 applications tab and the hundreds of things in the there I realized the error. Deleted well over a hundred of google toolbar entries and haven't had a problem since.

I'll remember your automatic regeneration tip if and when it reoccurs. thanks again
