[EvDO] How to bridge evdo tethered blackberry to Wireless Router

How would one bridge a evdo connection from a phone with evdo to a computer then to a linksys router?

this would enable the wireless router to broadcast the internet wirelessly through wifi.

Hardware available:
EVDO blackberry phone
usb connection to desktop computer running windows 2003
Linksys wrt54g router running newest dd-wrt firmware

I have tried ICS but it didnt seem to work (maybe my problem).

any ideas

Did PC connected to the Blackberry have access to the Internet? If so ICS, should work. Need to set PC NIC to a static IP.

Set Linksys WAN port to DHCP and connect it to the PC. That will provide Internet access but ICS PC and Wireless PCs will not be able to share files or printer.

Since the PC is doing NAT don't really need the Linksys to also as as a NAT router. If you want PCs on the same network need to convert Linksys to an Access Point. Disable DHCP on Linksys and connect Linksys LAN port to PC. The Linksys Ethernet ports probably support AutoMDX so you don't need a crossover cable.

The blackberry is the one providing the internet. I will try messing around with the ics again.

it is ok if I cannot share files right now, the important part is enabling wireless internet to my other wireless devices at home.

I will test it out later today thanks.

What gateway address for the nic should i put in for the pc that connects to the blackberry and to the linksys router?

Just curious who your provider is. We have a BB Curve 8330 with Embarq, and although tethering isn't officially allowed, I've heard if you stay under 5GB they don't charge you.

We stay under 5GB tethered and haven't been charged.

With verizon you pay $30 for 5 gigs then some overage charges if you go over.

If all else fails, you can get a EVDO router. »3gstore.com/
