Were they the paper type of 3-D glasses or the plastic type? (the ones they give you at a Imax 3-D movie)

Were they perhaps from Netflix...they have been sending them out for free as a promotion.

What they need to offer is glasses that you put on that make this movie better
Ah, to do that you need to find a set of rose-colored glasses.

Or just down a couple of bottles of your favorite beverage and look through them

I was hoping that these glasses would be useful for something other than a movie.
They are!

You can make your own 3-D images with a digital camera and Photoshop.

Here is one that I did, using the technique described here...

The one difference: Since these glasses are green and magenta, in step 4, select the red and blue channels vice the green and blue channels.

Follow the steps carefully. I used a tripod to make sure that the two photos were individually aligned. This was for a different technique that I tried a few years back, as seen in this animated gif...

I actually can't believe they're still trying to market "3D" anything at this point. After all, who really needs "3D" in the High Def age?
If you have not seen an IMAX movie in 3D you don't know what you're missing. And so sorry, but not even FiOS HD holds a candle to that (U2 3D was nothing short of incredible).

I saw the U2 3D show at the Bob Bullock Texas History museum in Austin back in 2008, while at an engineering conference. It was awesome. Definitely better than anything I have ever watched in HD.

They used the polarized glasses for the show. The polarization technique yields a much better result.

yes there is no point in watching a 3D presentation unless it uses the polarized glasses.

I've only seen the 3D in the regular DLP theater. I'm looking forward to seeing the 25 minutes of 3D in the next Harry Potter movie at the DLP IMAX theater(or should I say IMAX lite since it's at AMC)

I just got my pair in the mail today. I have found that these glasses work on the 3D version of Coraline that's on DVD. I think these should work for a all the 3d movies they are going to be releasing to dvd in the future.

Just got the glasses. Nice. I think GIMP can do the same thing.

The video clip looked OK, but not as good as your images.

I got my (6) 3D Glasses yesterday and we sat down to watch Shark Boy and Lava Girl and I gotta say I was pretty disappointed. My twin 6 year old boys didn't like it either and we ended up stopping the film. So.. this morning I placed an order for a few "Pro-X Professional Anaglyph 3D Glasses" 3D Glasses from Rainbow Symphony. Hopefully these will yield a better viewing experience.

BTW - We were watching in a dark room, 5 feet away on a 47" LCD standard DVD playback from a PS3.

I guess you get what ya pay for -

You do realize that "Shark Boy and Lava Girl" requires red/blue 3d glasses to view. The pairs you received from verizon are magenta/green glasses. They aren't compatible with each other. You can use the pairs from verizon to watch "My Bloody Valentine", "Coraline", and "Journey to the Center of the Earth".

Your photo is great, nice and bright. The movie clip is so-so because it's so "dark" (nature of the movie, I guess) and small.

You don't have to pay for anything, Not even S&H

Are you sure about that? The order form does not say this.
When dealing with Verizon I would not assume that the absence of a price equates to free. Good possibility they will try to charge your account anyway, unless it is specifically stated as being free.
