Re: [XP] Wireless router question

Do both units share the same SSID,Wireless Encryption Protocol, and the same wireless channel?

Is the Linksys router's LAN IP address in the same subnet as the Trendnet?

ok before I move the router to my 360 I need to do the following?

set the linksys lan ip to my trendnet's ip? they both share the same ssid, and wep key. I got the internet to work with the linksys on my wife's machine, but when I get it to the 360 it says that it can't resolve the dns. It finds the network, but won't connect to xbox live.

The TrendNet's LAN IP,let's say,it's 192.168.1.1,then your Linksys needs to be 192.168.1.2.

Linksys needs to be 192.168.10.XXX

Put the Linksys router's LAN IP address outside the TrendNet's DHCP server range.

Example:

TrendNet's LAN IP: 192.168.10.1 DHCP server range is 192.168.10.100 to 192.168.10.150

Linksys would be 192.168.10.2

so within the linksys router it needs to be 192.168.10.2

do I always have to re-connect it to my wireless lan when I move it? right now it's on my wife's pc, but when I move it to my 360 it fails to do anything.

It should connect to your wireless network, after it's moved. Is the XBOX 360 networking configured for DHCP or Static IP?
