Re: Credit card processing company knocked out by fire. That's a given. POTS is a dying business as a mass consumer product. It'll still be there for businesses and such - but even that is going to shift massively towards VoIP (whether independent or cable'd). I guess they (Verizon) finally accepted the fact that POTS has no future and is moving on. Not a bad choice business-wise.
It's also interesting that they ditched the VoIP market too. I guess they figure bundled phone with Fios is going to sell better and have less competition than "regular" VoIP. |
