Re: [CATV] New York - RCN comiong to my building I can't really answer, since I have a bunch of landline phones, two cable boxes (one DVRed), and broadband, and a bunch of packages (which I'm cutting back on). |

| Ah I was just curious, because 20mb and 1 up isnt too bad, way better than what twc offers. just curious on the catv prices, is it competitive with twc, or much more/less etc.. thanks though! -- The more you talk, the less you listen. |

You can try RCN's website. If you put in your address it might be able to price out a plan for you. It is set up to do so but does not always work. You could also call RCN for a quote. They probably have specials for new customers.
I was considering switching to Time Warner last year but RCN reduced my pricing to keep me. This year RCN raised prices for everyone in May. My bill says that my new pricing includes a 4 month special, so even after the increase I don't know what I will be paying in 4 months.
Because of this uncertainty I went on Time Warner's website to check costs and found that their prices increased markedly since I checked last year. Cable seems to be getting more expensive all-around. While I don't like it, I do realize that they are constantly adding channels (many HD) and services (like VOD).
My building has alerted us that they are entering an agreement with Verizon to put FIOS in our building. Competition is good. |
