lonegunmen : RCN scientific Atlantic modem , connected to Linksys wrt54g router. PC running Windows 7 beta.

All ethernet connections.

Left in afternoon all was working well.
Arrived late in evening the CABLE and POWER lights on modem were steady. All others off.

After several rounds of trouble shooting/resetting/cable swapping/etc I basically realized the ONLY device that my modem was detecting was my pc connected directly.

My router , My xbox 360 both had ethernet connections go undetected.

Went through trouble shooting on the phone and rep had me configure my 360's IP/DNS etc.
The modem finally detected the ethernet connection but did not result in an IP address or connection.

The router failed to be detected regardless of changes.

My last effort was to clone the MAC address of the PC on my router. That failed as well.

So Im now left with a modem which only connects directly to the PC and tech support saying nothing is wrong it must be my setup.

Any insight on this at all ??
