| Need Monitor advice
hi,
I suddenly have a hankering for a 24" monitor, I was with a friend that has one and it was nice.
I have been looking at the Samsungs.
Anyone have any advice as to a good one and where is the best place to pick it up at?

Stockbridge, GA | If your budgeting at $300-$400 I wouldn't settle for a cheap monitor. $300-$400 would net you a 24" nearly as good as a crt. |

otherwise I THINK both are pretty much the same.
It will not be used as a TV at all, strictly for my PC

My newest gaming monitor is a Samsung 2253BW LCD picked up from Newegg last summer. I love it, no dead pixels, excellent contrast ratio with very deep and defined black levels along with brilliant colors. No blurring in games such as COD4 and Quake4 and they look stunning in widescreen mode. Movies look very clean and clear. Looking back, I kind of wish I had gone with a 24 inch like you are planning to do. Spend time going through the customer reviews at Newegg for models that fit what you are looking for and you pretty much can't go wrong.

Actually 1920x1200 monitors are usually no more expensive then 1920x1080. The real reason why monitors are going the 1920x1080 route is because of hdmi and 1080 being the broadcast/bluray standard. |
