Very interesting. I remember reading that in Wired a month or two ago, and I thought to myself, "damn that's a great trick." Didn't put too much more thought to it, but I figured one day I'd try it on some unsuspecting people.
Now I know what makes Mentos work.
Wonder if Wired will have a retraction?

| A email making the rounds suggests you freeze a Mento in the middle of an ice cube and serve your friend a soda with the tainted ice cubes. When the ice cube melts, the Mento is exposed and the soda erupts everywhere. Great idea, right?
