Re: [VA] Cable Tv and internet problems...

well tech showed up around 4pm, and he was here about 15 minutes, but instead of coming up to the house first he went up the pole, then after about 10 minutes up there he came down, put his stuff up, and then came to the door to tell me the whole U is messed up, but didn't give me any info when it would be fixed. Just pretty much told me they are aware of the problem, and it sucks its raining here today.. So i dunno if they will even mess with it today.

A tech suppost to be here between 3-5pm today, but as soon as he gets here ima tell him the problem is either at the pole, or farther down the lines somewhere. Because i even switched both splitters outside, and it did nothing. Signals are still weak, and as i said before im very surprised even the modem is working.

lol thats the levels of the modem off the main splitter after it hits the house. Trust me i have my stuff setup the best possible way, and the signals are bad because something on there end somewhere went horriblely wrong.

How are your levels at the modem if you remove the splitter(s)?

Well when my SNR goes from 38 all the way to 30, and the downstream power level goes from +5 to -10 something on there end failed somewhere. Anyways yes it sucks no HDTv or anything. I would really be piss if the internet was also out, because that would be two whole days without anything, and i would of demanded a credit to my account for two days of lost service.

I certainly do not blame you for being upset over your TV outage!!!! I know my family would be driving me crazy if we lost the TV signal.

However, your HSI downstream power and SNR levels appear to be within spec.

Well i would do that, but I know cox's reps would argue its a problem at the house and how it might be my fault, and why they should pay me back for a problem that might not be theres.

Fact of the matter is.. I went out last night and switched the splitters out to make sure one of them didn't fail. After doing that still the same shitty low signals on modem, which im very surprised is even running at the currently 31DB SNR which was 38 before this problem, and my power level on downstream has went to -9 now from the +5 it was.

Foreal im very angry at cox and there approach to fixing this issue. Hell the tv isn't whats bothering me, its the 2-3 other people here angry about it being down. So im just happy later today i will atleast be out doing something since it is the 4th of july.

Well since about 6:30pm est here today, The cable went out and after about 20 minutes internet came back in but the signal levels on downstream side are very poor SNR is now 32 instead of 38, and Power level is -8 from the +5 it was. Then all my tv's on boxes are out except the one closes to splitter, and even its glitching badly.

So I made a call to CS and the rep did the norm with resetting everything, and still no luck.. So he asked me to please hold so he could comfirm if there is any outages report. He then came back and said there is a report of a outage, and that things should be fixed shortly. Come 2 and a half hours later i place another call, and this guy wanted to reset the boxes, and he did so and no luck with getting things working. So he told me he wanted to send out a tech, and i said ok but wasn't happy because i know the problem aint here. Then he tells me it will be sunday between 3-5pm.

So now im suppost to sit here have no tv until sunday, unless they find the problem along the lines of there equipment. Im just really PO atm.
Make sure you call in daily everyday you're down and request a credit.
