[AB] I can't get any speed higher than 1.5 mbps??

When I checked the Telus website it says I have the option of signing up to Turbo 15mbps. However when I spoke CSR over the phone. He said there are no available ports and said I cannot get Extreme or Turbo... I am confused because he told me to call back within 2 weeks and check if its available by then.

Sometimes they have a finite amount of ports. Maybe the program on the website checks if you live in an area that is capable of having 15mbps, but doesn't check to see if there's a free port?

if you're already on a dmt2 port then you'll be able to get up to 6.0 regardless if the system shows no ports are available (that's for new customers)... if you want turbo then you'd have to wait for an adsl2+ port to become available...

the only way you'd currently be stuck at 1.5 is if you've had adsl forever and you're on a much older dmt1 port.

Which modem do you use?

Thanks for your reply. I've been on the 1.5 mbps Enhanced speed for about a year now. I'm using the 2wire. How do I check which port I'm under?

you're at least on a dmt2 port.. so 6.0 should be fine (distance/db loss permitting).
