Error opening Photoshop Elements PSD in Paint Shop Pro

If I attempt to open a PSD file I saved in Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 in Paint Shop Pro X2, I get a error.... "The color model of this PSD file is not supported"...and the file will not open....

How can I open this file in PSP as a PSD without converting to a TIF, JPEG, etc?

Thanks kindly...

You can't you will need to open it in PS and convert it to (PNG.(for the best results )
Just as you can't open a PSP file in PS.

I can open PSDs in PSP I've created in Corel Painter.... PSP also has the ability to save PSDs...

And these PS Element PSDs will not open in Corel Painter either...

I found out what the problem was.... I was opening camera raw files in Elements and when I saved them as a PSD I was saving them as 16 bit... If I save them as 8 bit they open up fine in Paint Shop Pro & Painter....

You **MIGHT** also be able to open 16-bit files in PSP if you save them with an sRGB color space. That way you could keep the more complete dynamic range of the 16-bit file. Just a thought.

Thanks... I'll have to figure out how to change the colour space in Elements...

Cheers
