Are the inputs on the TV changed to the input the component or hdmi cable is being put into? Sounds like the TVs are on antenna input, since you get vid/audio with coax screwed into TV. |

| Got it working, by accident. We hooked up coax directly so we could watch TV but left in the component hookups anyway. While watching, we pressed the Input button on the Sony remote (not the Cablevision remote) and got list of input devices (Component 1, HDMI, etc). We switched to Component 1 and voila, that worked; we disconnected coax to make sure. We then tried the HDMI cable (disconnecting Component 1 and using Input button to switch input device) and that worked. Ditto on second TV, so both are working.
In our defense, this was not in either the Sony manuals or Cablevision setup guide. Sony guide made no mention of first needing to hook up to coax then select Input button on remote to switch to the desired input device before using that input device. And Cablevision guide (the big visual guide sheet) said *either* use standard hookup via coax *or* use Component 1 or HDMI. And the Cablevision tech we spoke to had no clue what the problem was. |
