You still are using the same connection from Sprint. The difference now is you can use more bandwidth per month. Not related to speed. I'm still on the 59/mo plan.

Just tried a few downloads from high-bandwidth sources (SoftLayer-Dallas and Revision3) and both of them topped out at 150-160 KB/s (1200-1280 kbps) with a signal that fluctuated between -65 and -75 and 9since it's 1:30 in the morning) a tower loading factor of pretty much zero.
On uploads, if my FTP client is reading out correctly (FileZilla) I'm pushing 550-800 kbit/s. This is to a shared hosting account on a SoftLayer server that's on a 100 Mbit port, so granted this is pretty much a best case scenario. Still, nice numbers. FWIW, they're comparable to what I've gotten with my Touch pro, which seems to have comparable reception to this CDU-680 I'm using, if not better.
Also, the Sprint-based DSLR-style tests at »sprint.com/speedtest are totally lacking in quality as far as uploads are concerned, and somewhat downloads.
Lastly, I tested at testmy.net and downloads again appeared to be ~1.2 Mbit/s. Uploads again are weirding out on me...I'll trust the numbers on the FTP upload as I was uploading a Quicktime video to a server that's to my knowledge at near-zero load right about now. |

| Cool. Doesn't make particular sense (hello speedtest folks, what's going on here) but glad I'm not alone here.
Also, looks like the tower the Franklin was connecting to is a single-T1 affair. Need to go around town and see what towers are dual-T1 or better. Kinda disappointing really. |

| The huge upload speed is due to PowerBoost on uploads as well as downloads. Looks like you're on a crowded node or something.
Anyway, looks like I'm pulling down 900-1200 kbps this morning. Again this is with a pretty strong signal. Data sync rate keeps fluctuating though...tower load is -3 to -1.
FTP upload is around 550-650 kbps. |

| I'm at my daughters today and just playing around with her comcast service. My tower in Mathews up until this week has been lightly loaded but it looks like a couple may have joined me on it. At least one of them is a big time downloader. I was at 300-400 down for extended periods with around 400 up. I hope that is not something that is going to be a norm now. |

| reply to powerspec88 My speed has changed from a meg to between 25 KBs and 40Kbs- do the sprint modems go bad often because I have had it for 2 years? I have changed absolutely nothing and was getting great speeds for two years with no antenna. I am right down the road from Dmarks who is reporting great speed |
