Re: Fireworks?

I grew up in Temple City where fireworks were, and still are, allowed. I figured it would be pretty even on the %'s but again I am surprised. Arriving home from work (around 8), we watched Gran Torino with only the occasional bottle rocket.

I've heard a few go off this evening here, but so far it's been pretty quiet.
Come to my area, it sounds like a war zone.

You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything.

It's like the Battle of the Bulge out there as I type this. My dog isn't fazed, she's curled up on her bed in front of me oblivious to the cacophony.

The dogs next door are going apeshit in their backyard, but I can't hear them in here, thankfully. If my dogs were sensitive to that noise, I'd sure as hell bring them inside and shut all openings.

They're illegal in the entire county of Mendocino, and I'm glad, too much fire danger. We used to shoot them off every year in our Cul-De-Sac in West Covina, but a lot less open space so a lot less fire danger. However, I could imagine them being a HUGE danger in places like Azusa near the canyon, or in the Puente Hills or up in Via Verde.

Illegal in unincorporated San Bernardino County, but very few residents of unincorporated SB county are the type to pay attention to legality.

We'll be having a pretty good 360 degree view of illegal aerial pyrotechnics shortly after dusk and lasting for a few hours if past years are any indicator.

you can still see the dents on the south side of our mobile 20 years later even though we tried to get them out. Not even paint hides them.
Use thicker paint.

Cucamonga Fire dept on San Bernardino Road use to sound the Air Raid siren every 4th and on News Years eve, then the new residents that now live in the area started complaining about being scared out of there wits and the loud noise so they stopped.

Then, the Barrio to the south of us that doesn't really exist any more on Baseline and 25 street, you could always count on a barrage of gunfire...Of course this barrage of gunfire occured almost every weekend but it just seemed extra violent on the 4th. In fact you can still see the dents on the south side of our mobile 20 years later even though we tried to get them out. Not even paint hides them.

Why is it that people who never pay attention to the weather are always the first to complain.

No for Murrieta, and just guessing that it's probably no for all of Riverside County...

We're heading to Huntington Beach to watch the works from the pier...

It always turns into a cleanup nightmare here in Garden Grove, people come, by the van load, shoot off their fireworks, jump back in and leave without cleaning up the street....I can't wait.

So you want me to bring a broom and do work of city employees after i am done shooting fireworks?
More like, 'pack out, what you pack in'. Simple enough?
Not simple, it's the job of city employees to clean the street and not regular citizen. Simple enough?

A hearty HECK NO! in La Verne.

It's funny...I've lived in La Puente and Whittier before moving here and there was always the sound of firecrackers and bottle rockets in the area, starting a few days before the 4th. It built to a fortissimo of flagrant law-breaking after dark on the 4th and the local LEO withdrew until about 9:30.

Out here, nada. Not even a lonely ladyfinger report.

I'm taking the family to watch the Angels (I want to see O'Sullivan pitch) and the show afterward tonight. It's too quiet here.
