Re: Hmm... Most of the laptops iv'e taken apart have two antennas. One at each corner at the bottom of the screen. Not sure why they don't place them at the top of the screen.

That's because the bezels around the LCD screen are getting narrower so there is not much room to route traditional RF pigtails anymore. 
However some high end laptops use shielded tracks on the LED backlight matrix board to carry RF signal to embedded "chip" antennas. Apple, some HP and Toshiba models, etc. |
