USB dongles work for any laptops if the built-in WiFi is disabled and some cell phones have auto-switching external antenna connector. LOL J/K

Well.......... I did get them in the mail. While I really did not have time to spend on exhausting tests, I did try them on my phone and netbook. With the phone, I can honestly say that sometimes, it did increase my signal quality, but it also seemed that I had to stay in one spot, occasionally spinning in a 360 degree circle until it did anything?, almost like I had to be in the correct location so the reflective properties of the tape itself could catch and focus the signal?

There is a section of highway that I travel everyday to get from my home to the city. This section of road has always been a dead zone for me (I have AT&T), and when I say dead, I mean it. it is 3.4 miles of nothing from Lebanon city to my home. I get service again at my house, but it is also 640ft above sea level. The road itself is in a depression the entire length.

After adding the tape to the back (I covered the entire phone,as here again, I have no idea where the antenna is?), I actually had signal again in 3 places along the route. it was only 1 bar at 2 of them and 2 bars at another, but here again, it was signal.

With the Netbook, I am not sure where the antenna is actually located on the computer, so I am still not sure where I should be sticking the stuff? By just holding the black sheet alongside the computer at different locations I thought the antenna may be located, I again had mixed results, all of them dependent on the position of both the computer and the black sheet of material. When I got to a spot where it seemed to make a difference, I confirmed it was in fact the back sheet making the difference in signal and NOT the location of the computer by removing and then putting back the black sheet.

Since the stuff didn't come with instructions, perhaps I am doing something incorrectly?. I guess all in all, considering the very low price point, it wouldn't hurt to carry this around "Just in case" you are in a situation where 1 or 2 dB would make the difference between using or not using your phone/computer. All in all though, it does appear that this product won't be the next "Killer app." to make a huge difference in the wireless world, but it may help in some situations?.
--
»www.wavecrazy.net
