[TWC] Charlotte: Standard Has Powerboost Now?

I've been running some speed test recently and saw it hit up to like insane amounts of downspeed with the up being exactly the same so I looked at »www.timewarnercable.com/Carolina···ing.html and apparently we have it now on our standard too.

Time Warner is rolling out PowerBoost throughout their terretory to Turbo and Standard customers. That explains your boost in speed

That appears to be how they are planning on competing with ATTs faster uverse offerings.

When I made the switch to Uverse Max 18 (internet only) they tried to explain to me that Road Runner was faster because it had power boost. lol

RR turbo is what now? 55 bucks a month??
ATT max 10 (now 12) is the same price and has 3x the upload.

Told them to give me a call when they really decide to compete and offer at least 15/2. Even then I doubt I switch back, because I've got used to not having the slow downs during peak usage now that I have uverse for internet.

(heh nice tf2 refrence in your sig)

Yeah I figured though that for awhile it was just turbo customers that got it but then they added it to us too. Guess it's not a bad little surprise, but like the other guy said wish the upload was better. My apt gives me roadrunner/analog 2-99 cable with my rent so I'm actually kind of stuck with time warner cable because if I did get u-verse (which I don't think is in this area of charlotte yet) I would still have to pay for the other.

My standard in Greensboro has downstream Powerboost, so I wouldn't be surprised if Charlotte did.

Since when is "Upstream Speed: Up to 1.5 Mbps" 3x 2Mbps?

Plus U-verse has a bandwidth limit. Anyone know what that 'CAP' is? I found searching "Ask a Question" that "AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet service usage is not limited to a particular size (amount)."

But in the "AT&T U-verse(SM) Offer Details" there is a line with "and does not include taxes, fees, or excessive bandwidth usage charges" at paragraph: "U-verse High-Speed Internet 24 Month Price Guarantee with no Term Contract: Offer ends 09/19/09"

What does that mean???? hmmmmmm.

In Charlotte (the city we're talking about here) turbo only nets you .512 upload. Standard gets you a whooping 384.

I'm happy that you got 2 up. If we had 2 up I would probably still be a RR customer.

Same in Greensboro.
